Amigurumi Magic

Privacy Policy

How Amigurumi Magic collects, uses, protects, and shares information, including contact-form data and future advertising technologies.

Effective date: October 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Amigurumi Magic (“Amigurumi Magic,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you visit this website, read crochet patterns, or contact us. It applies to AmigurumiMagic.com and the temporary Hostinger address used while the site is being prepared. It does not apply to websites operated by other organizations.

Information we collect

Information you provide

When you use the contact form, we receive the information you enter, such as your name, email address, subject, message, and any project or page details you choose to include. We use it to answer questions, investigate pattern corrections, respond to accessibility feedback, manage business inquiries, and protect the form from abuse.

Please do not send passwords, payment-card information, government identifiers, medical information, or other sensitive personal data. The site does not currently offer public user accounts, direct checkout, or on-site payment processing.

Newsletter signup

If you join the newsletter, we store your email address, consent timestamp, confirmation status, and a non-reversible email hash used to prevent duplicates. A confirmation link is sent before the subscription becomes active. You may ignore the confirmation message to remain unsubscribed, use any unsubscribe method included in future emails, or request deletion through the Contact page.

Information collected automatically

When a browser requests a page, the website and its service providers may process technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, requested URL, timestamps, language settings, approximate location derived from IP address, and security or error logs. This information is used to deliver pages, prevent attacks and spam, diagnose failures, and maintain reliable service.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site may use cookies, local storage, pixels, web beacons, or similar technologies. Essential technologies support security, form handling, administrator sessions, caching, and reliable delivery. Optional analytics or advertising technologies will be used only when enabled and subject to the choices required for your region. See the Cookie Policy for details.

How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and secure the website.
  • Respond to contact requests, pattern questions, and correction reports.
  • Detect spam, fraud, malicious traffic, and technical problems.
  • Understand site performance and audience interests when analytics is enabled.
  • Display, measure, and manage advertising if an advertising service is activated.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce site policies.

Advertising and Google services

Google AdSense is not intentionally serving ads on the temporary site as of the effective date above. If AdSense is activated, Google and other advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, process IP addresses or other identifiers, and collect information about visits to deliver, limit, personalize, and measure ads where permitted.

Google requires publishers to disclose this activity. You can learn how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and review Google’s advertising technologies. Where required, optional advertising storage and personalized advertising will not be enabled until the appropriate choice has been recorded through a consent-management platform.

Analytics

Optional analytics may be added to understand aggregated information such as popular pages, general traffic sources, device categories, and site performance. This policy and the consent interface will identify the provider before optional analytics is intentionally activated. Analytics data is not used by us to request sensitive information from visitors.

Service providers and disclosures

We may share or allow access to information only as reasonably necessary for organizations that help operate the site. These may include Hostinger for hosting and infrastructure, WordPress and installed form/security/caching tools, email-delivery providers used to route contact messages, professional advisers, and—if activated—analytics or advertising providers such as Google.

Providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies or on our instructions, depending on the service. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect rights and safety, investigate misuse, or support a merger, transfer, or reorganization of the site. We do not sell contact-form information for money.

Retention

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose described in this policy, including responding to a message, documenting corrections, maintaining security logs, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record and provider. We may delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed.

Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an explanation of certain processing. You may also have the right to object to or opt out of targeted advertising, the sale or sharing of personal information, or certain profiling. We will not discriminate against you for making a valid privacy request.

Use the Contact page and write “Privacy request” in the subject line. We may need to verify the request and may retain limited information when legally permitted or required. Authorized agents should identify their authority. If an appeal right applies and we deny a request, you may ask us to review the decision.

Browser settings can block or delete cookies. When a consent panel is available, use its settings to accept, reject, or revise optional choices. A browser privacy signal such as Global Privacy Control may be honored where required and technically supported. Disabling essential storage can affect site functionality.

Visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

Where applicable, processing may rely on consent, performance of a requested service, compliance with law, or legitimate interests such as securing the site and responding to messages. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing and may complain to your local data-protection authority. If personalized advertising is served in these regions, an appropriate Google-certified consent-management platform will be used as required by Google’s publisher rules.

Children’s privacy

The website is written for a general audience of crochet makers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information may contact us to request review and deletion.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Hosting and service providers may process information in countries different from your own, subject to applicable safeguards and provider terms.

External links

Pattern pages may link to retailers, publications, social platforms, or other websites. Their privacy practices are controlled by their operators. Review their policies before providing information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site, providers, advertising setup, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will be revised when material changes are published.
